Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Rules

• Entry Fee: Free
• Player Cap: 72 players
• Platform: Nintendo Switch
• Mode: LAN Play (6 stations linked together per match, with 1 or 2 players on each station depending on total # of participants)
• Smart Steering, Tilt Controls, Auto Accelerate: may be turned ON or OFF for each player
• Race Class: 150cc Race
• Teams: No Teams
• Items: Normal Items
• COM: No COM
• Race Count: 4 Races for preliminary rounds; longer races for championship round, time permitting
• Course Selection: Random (DLC courses included)

Tournament Structure: Single elimination. Up to 12 players will face-off in each match, with a certain number of top finishers qualifying for the next round. The exact number of racers per match and qualifying spots will depend on the total number of tournament participants.

Ties: If multiple players are tied for a qualifying spot in the preliminary rounds, then they are to play a single race on Mario Kart Stadium to break the tie. If a tiebreaker needs to be run for the championship round, then it will be on MK8 Rainbow Road instead. If those tracks have already been used in the current match, then the bracket runner may select a different track for the tiebreaker.
