Game Mode: 1v1
Match Rules:
Best of 3: All matches are played as a best-of-three series.
Best of 5: For Top 8, matches will be best of five.
Stock: Each player has 3 stocks.
Time Limit: 7 minutes per match.
Character Selection:
Both players can select their characters freely for the first match. The losing player may switch characters between matches, while the winning player must stay with the same character.
This structure keeps the competition fair and allows players flexibility in adapting their strategies!
Banned Characters:
The Banned Character is Agent Smith for there jab overuse.

General
Failure to check in to your set will lead to a disqualification; a disqualification is also in order if a player becomes unresponsive for too long. Players competing are not allowed to play on another player's Steam account for any reason. Entering with multiple start.gg accounts is bannable, for all accounts found. Top 8 matchups are all best out of 5 and will be streamed on twitch. Before entering top 8 matches will be BO3. Some matches will be streamed; after matches are allowed to start Chubbs will decide himself which matches/sets he will stream prior to top 8. If Spectators Mode is NOT working, we will ask the participants of the match to Discord Stream it to Chubbs.

PPG and Agent Smith is banned from the tourney, we don't want overusing 0-def and jab overuse.
Map Locking
At the start of the tournament every contender will be assigned a seed. The higher seeded player will have 3 requirements:
Will be required to make the lobby and invite the other player. Choose 3 maps that you are willing to play on; after which the lower seeded contender will choose one from those maps to start the mach on. The winner of the match, regardless of seeding, will then act as the higher seeded player going into the next. Repeating steps 1 and 2. PSA: Ignore rule 3 if both players agree to a rematch. All messages between players should be in start.gg chat box. Time Management If contenders are having troubles starting a match, said contender has 3 minutes to fix the issue before disqualification. If contenders successfully start a match but an issue arises. A self-destruct in the first 10 seconds will result in a match reset; permitting you 5 minutes to address the problem before disqualification. Continued disconnects WILL result in a round loss.
Player Behavior
Every contender must show good sportsmanship to one another, which expected in the following places In-game Twitch chat Discord Chat tab of smart.gg
Room: You do not need to share the room or open the room to any player that is not a participant in a given set. We will not prevent you from doing so, BUT if non-participant players are causing a problem admins will be forced to address the issue how they see fit; and given the instability of spectators we heavily advise against it. All In-game names will be sent to you via start.gg chats unless otherwise stated. Cheating is strictly prohibited.
WARNING Any contender caught cheating will be immediately disqualified and banned from future events not limited to just tournaments. If any contender is caught cheating they forfeit all winnings included in their standing. Intentionally losing a game, collusion, or any other action of similar nature is also considered cheating under these rules. All rules are up to the Tournament Admins' interpretation. Rules may be added or removed for any reasonable convenience by Uncle Chubbs or the Administrative team. Unless stated otherwise, all decisions made by an Admin, as stated in these rules, are final and are held upon all parties. By joining the event, you will be considered to have read and comply with the given rules.
