Stage Striking
Before Game 1:
  • Players announce their characters BEFORE stage striking.
    • Either player may request a "double blind" selection, in which case a TO or other impartial third party will be told their character choices in secret and validate them at the character select screen after stage selection.
  • Players play a best-of-1 Rock-Paper-Scissors, and the winner may choose to either strike first or strike second. Stages are struck in a P1-P2-P2-P1 order.

Starters: Battlefield, Small Battlefield, Pokemon Stadium 2, Smashville, Town & City

Counterpicks: Final Destination, Kalos Pokemon League, Hollow Bastion

Game 2 Onward:
  • The player who won the previous game gets three (3) bans from the stage list above, and the player who lost chooses from the remainder.
  • At the character select screen, the player who won the previous game locks in their character before the player who lost the previous game.
Battlefield and Omega Forms

The player choosing a stage may select a Battlefield Form or Omega Form of a non-legal stage only if their opponent allows it.

The following stages should NOT be used for Battlefield or Omega Forms due to unusual aspects of their Z-axis, floors, or walls:

  • Hanenbow (Z-axis)
  • Dream Land GB (Z-axis)
  • Mute City SNES (Z-axis)
  • Flat Zone X (Z-axis)
  • Duck Hunt (Z-axis)
  • Pac-Land (Z-axis)
  • Super Mario Maker (Z-axis)
  • Windy Hill Zone (floor obscures traps)
  • Gamer (walls obscure blast zones)
Gentleman's Stage Clause

Players may play on any stage if mutually agreed upon.

Self-Destruct Moves & Sudden Death

If a game ends with a self-destruct move, the results screen determines the winner. If Sudden Death occurs, the winner is determined by stocks and percentage at the time the game ends. If both players are tied in stocks, the player with the lower percentage is the winner. In the event of a percentage tie, or a game in which both players lose their last stock simultaneously, a 1-stock tiebreaker will be played with a 3-minute time limit. The results of an in-game 300% Sudden Death do not count. If Sudden Death occurs in a Sudden Death game, this process is repeated.
