Game-Specific Rules

• Each round-robin match will be a “best-of-three"

• Before the first game of each match, the team captains and a Heartland official will hold a coin toss. The winner of the coin toss will choose either control, push, escort, flashpoint, or hybrid. The loser will choose the map they play on, specific to whichever game mode the winning team chose.

• The second game of each match will have the team that lost choose the game mode, and the team that won will choose the map, specific to whichever game mode the other team chose.

• Any given game mode may not be played twice within the same match, teams must play a different mode with each game, which of course means a different map as well.

• Only heroes currently available in ranked competitive play are allowed.

• The tournament will be played on the most recent live patch.

• In the event of an issue, a player may pause the game. They must then immediately report to a Heartland official and explain the issue. The game may resume after the pausing team, the non-pausing team and the heartland official agree to unpause. However, the Heartland official has the discretion to have the players start the game if agreements are not able to be reached.

• If a player intentionally abuses a bug that has a substantial impact on the outcome of the game, that player may no longer compete for the rest of the tournament.

• No strategic pauses/timeouts are available.

• All Heartland Officials may change any aspect of the tournament and all decisions made are final.

• All teams and players must comply with the player procedures handout that will be issued at registration.
