Tournament Rules

The Lab adheres to the Philly Smash Code of Conduct

Lab Tournament Rules - Click Here... It's a link.

Unsportsmanlike Conduct

We expect players to do their best to exhibit good sportsmanship. Since The Lab is a small space, a sudden change in tone or increase in volume can be very distracting. If a player exhibits an act of violence or threatened violence toward another player and/or Lab property (i.e. throwing a controller, slamming doors or slamming their fist on the table/ into a wall), the result may be immediate expulsion from the current event as well as potential probation from future events. This rule applies both during and after a tournament set as well as for players or spectators who are not currently involved in a set.

On the similar note, talking to your opponent may also be deemed as a distraction and you should try to do your best not to engage in a negative conversation. If you feel your opponent is purposely distracting you, it is OK to suspend your match to involve a TO. Decisions are at the discretion of The Laboratory staff. Please use your best judgment in these situations.

Additionally, cheering is not considered a form of distraction. If, as a player, you find that normal competitive crowd noise distracting, it is your responsibility to bring headphones, ear plugs, ect.
