Event Rules

SMZ3 will be happening during SpeedGaming Live!

PLEASE keep in mind that to participate, you must be available for the live broadcasts during the week of SG Live(November 5th - 13th). If your schedule does not permit short-notice availability for racing during this week, it is suggested that you do not enter, especially for quarterfinals through Finals.

Below is more information:

  • You must join the SG Live event Discord: https://discord.gg/pee523xd4c
  • You must have a Racetime.gg account, and have it linked to your Twitch Stream.
  • Normal Logic, 10min stream delay is required.
  • Registration is open, group stages will be ran through the month of October. Racetime.gg Ranking will be used to seed. All participants that go 2-1 in the Groups Stage will be proceeding in to Brackets. This is similar to the format used in the SG Live 2020 event.
  • All matches from Brackets through Finals will be raced on Racetime.gg - this allows us to generate private/unlisted channels to prevent spoilers.
  • Streaming with cams(Brackets through Finals) is strongly encouraged - this is to still give a "Live" feeling to the event!

The SMZ3 currently has a $300.00 prize pool(as of October 11th). You can increase the prize pool by donating, or completing bounties from the Matcherino Page! https://matcherino.com/tournaments/32711/ The Prize Pool will be split between placements, and we will provide the breakdown information after the contribution window closes so we know the full total amount for the prize pool. More information coming soon!

The Groups are assigned and updated in the Pool 1, Round Robin Group Stages. Each group consisting of 5 players will have the top 3 move on to brackets. The single group consisting of 4 players will have the top 2 move on, for a 32-player bracket. It will be Single Elimination in the Bracket Phase.

Match Rules

SpeedGaming Live 2021:

Registration is open, group stages will be ran through the month of October. Racetime.gg Ranking will be used to seed. All participants that go 2-1 in the Groups Stage will be proceeding in to Brackets. This is similar to the format used in the SG Live 2020 event.

-- 8 or less entrants - double elimination bracket -- 9 to 31 entrants - seeded single elimination bracket -- 32+ entrants - A round robin group stage, followed by single elimination bracket.

10 Minute Stream Delay. Normal Logic.

First Place receives 40% of the pool, Second Place receives 30% of the pool, and Bronze Racers will each receive 15%.

We cannot guarantee every race will be restreamed, but please treat every race as if it is being restreamed -- this means emote only in chat, stream delays are required from brackets to finals, and you should allow your stream delay to go ALL THE WAY through your credits for verification of match completion.

If you know that your race isn't going to be restreamed, you are able to use a mic during your stream if you'd like but emote only and stream delays will still be required. Cams are, again, encouraged but not required.

PLEASE set up your Racetime.gg accounts in advance and make sure that you'll be able to use your stream delay and local recordings for races. TEST THIS AHEAD OF TIME. We will have race room proctors and volunteers for score reporting, but if you would like to report the race results feel free to use the @SMZ3 Help role.
