Set Procedure
- Before game 1, players strike stages in P1-P2-P2-P1 form.
- The higher-seeded player is considered player 1.
- For game 1, characters are picked double-blind.
- Following game 1, the winning player will ban 3 stages (2 stages in Grands), and the losing player will pick from the remaining stages to play on.
- The winner will then declare their character selection, followed by the loser.
Players have 10 minutes to show up for their first set for the tournament; if they do not show up, they are disqualified from the bracket.
After the first set, if a player does not show up within 5 minutes to their set, they lose the set automatically. If their next opponent is ready to play, after 5 more minutes, they are disqualified.
Tournament Rules
GENERAL HOPE/DESPAIR RULES
These rules are shared by all events. Game-specific rules are included in the rules for each event.
1. Please be on time.
Registration for each event closes five (5) minutes prior to the event's brackets starting. For the sake of logistics we will not be allowing any exceptions or late substitutions.
2. Please show good sportsmanship.
As a part of the fighting game community there is definitely our fair share of salt and trash talking, but escalating to being a bad person is unacceptable and will result in penalties up to the discretion of the TOs of the event.
3. Please save replays if applicable.
(Super Smash Flash 2 and Fraymakers only)
For titles that are on replay delay, make sure that tournament replays are saved and submitted in a timely manner after the completion of your set. Please archive sets as a ZIP file or similar before submitting to the broadcast team to avoid unnecessary delays.
4. If your set is marked for broadcast, please wait for the broadcaster.
(Brawl Minus and Super Smash Bros. Crusade only)
We want to make sure that all critical sets are broadcasted. This may result in waiting around to play your set until the previous set is complete. Please be patient and hop on stream to see your fellow competitors do battle!
5. Please have a stable internet connection under your control.
This is very important to ensuring that each event runs on time and as smoothly as possible. Each title has its own internet speed requirements so please check that as well, but all events require wired connections throughout the entire chain.
