On February 20, 2022, Capcom announced that Street Fighter 6 is in development.

All matches are played on PC. All players must have a controller compatible with the PC.

The tournament format is Double Elimination.

To win a set a player must win 2 or 3 matches depending on the stage of the tournament. To win a match a player must win 3 rounds.

The time limit of a round is 60 seconds.

The stage of the matches will be random. The loser of the match can either rematch or change their character and pick a random stage, or keep playing the same character and pick a random stage. The winner of the match is not allowed to change their character.

The set format is FT2 until the finals stage of Top 8.

In Top 8 the set format is FT3 for Winners, Losers and Grand Finals.
