Tournament Rules

EMIRATES SHOWDOWN 2025 RULES

By participating/visiting you accept, without reservation, all these stipulations of the rules.

The event organisers reserve the right to change these rules at any time.

All tournaments are on the BYOC premise - Bring Your Own Controller.

Players entering the TEKKEN 8 - TEKKEN World Tour Challenger Event will ensure they adhere to Bandai Namco's rules as outlined HERE

Competition and Access and Image Rights

When entering the competition location, the visitor or contestant will have to present their ticket and an identity justification.

As soon as you enter as a spectator, or competitor, you unequivocally agree that the organisers may use, reproduce and communicate to the public the photographs / videos taken as part of this agreement. The photographs and videos may be used and exploited directly, in any form and on any medium known and unknown to date, throughout the world, without limitation of time, in full or in part.

Rules of Conduct

The organisers encourage all participants to engage honestly and fairly with each other and the people around them.

The purpose of these Rules of Conduct is to establish a non-exhaustive list of prohibited behavior and dishonest practices that may give an undue, unnatural and unpredictable advantage. The organisers reserve the right to modify any time these rules of conduct as well as to take any disciplinary action adapted in case of non-compliance with the Rules of Conduct, be it behavior listed or not in the list below :

The following behaviors may lead to a sanction:

  • Refusal to follow the instructions of the Tournament Administrator;
  • Arriving late for scheduled matches;
  • Choosing a pseudonym, or falsely claiming association with the organisers;
  • Harassing, following, threatening, intimidating or engaging in harmful behavior towards other participants, or staff;
  • Communication of any content that may be considered offensive, including illegal, insulting, abusive, threatening, vulgar, obscene, sexual, racist, defamatory whether based on race, political opinions or religious rights, sexual orientation and more generally anything contrary to ethics;
  • Publishing of promotional or commercial content, violating the reputation, or image of the organisers;
  • Registering for the Tournament via the nickname of a third person to play one or more matches in place of the original entrant;
  • Creating a false identity or impersonating a third party;
  • Publishing personal information of other participants (such as name, surname, address, telephone number, etc.) on a publicly accessible space, be it via social networks, on a website, or by any other means;
  • Using any video game bug to get an unfair advantage, whether or not it is defined in the Tournament Rules;
  • Using any third-party cheating software that modifies game features, hardware, or controllers;
  • Distorting, or interfering with the operation of automated data systems, whether whether it is the video game or the Services;
  • Not notifying the organisers of the existence of a bug or fault to obtain an undue advantage during a match;
  • Not providing a best effort to try to win a match - intentionally losing a match;
  • Betting or setting up an illegal betting system on Tournaments;
  • Manipulating the ranking of a Tournament.
Applicable Sanctions

In case of any violation of these or the Tournament Rules in which you participate, the organizers reserve the right to impose any sanctions they see fit according to the gravity of the violation observed. Here is a non-exhaustive list of sanctions that may be imposed by the organisers, according to the good faith of the participant and the seriousness of the offence found:

  • A warning, 2 warnings will earn an immediate disqualification
  • Loss of a round
  • Loss of a match
  • Disqualification

The organisers reserve the right to ban any persons from current and future events.

The organisers also reserve the right to enforce a change of any nickname and/or sponsor affiliation players used at sign up/sign in, at organisers sole discretion.

The organizers may also decide to impose additional sanctions specific to the parameters, specificity and rules related to the video game in question during the tournament. The organisers reserve the right to sue any participant, both civilly and criminally, according to the nature and gravity of the damage found.

Applicable Law

The laws of Abu Dhabi and where applicable the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates shall apply.
