Controller Rules
- Each player will bring their own GamePad/Arcade Stick/Leverless (hereafter referred to as "controller"), compatible with the platform or converter for the respective game.
- Players will be responsible for any malfunction of their own controller during the event.
- Players must bring a USB-A cable, which should be at least 6ft long to connect their controller. Not having your own cable counts as a controller malfunction. Only having a USB-C cable can lead to issues with USB port availability and can also be considered a controller malfunction.
- Controller or adapter built-in macros are not allowed. TOs reserve the right to check the controller or adapter at any moment, including connecting to a PC to verify. Refusing the check is grounds for disqualification.
- Leverless controllers must implement SOCD rules according to the respective game rules. Left+Right = Neutral applies to all except Smash.
- Controller buttons and movements cannot be mapped to separate inputs (no two X's, R1's, L2's, Up-buttons, etc). Only 10 "attack" buttons can be mapped at any time.
- Player is responsible for ensuring their controller is compatible with the respective console or converter before their match.
- The recommended adapters are:
- XBOX: Brook Wingman XB3 or Mayflash Magic-X
- PS4/PS5: Brook Wingman FGC/FGC VX/P5 or Mayflash Magic-S Ultimate
- Refusing the use of a Brook Converter when asked by production staff or TOs to solve a controller malfunction will result in the following: you will forfeit the match and can be grounds for disqualification from the event.
Platform Rules
- PlayStation 5 Bluetooth functionality will be OFF for any PS5 or PS4onPS5 games. No Exceptions. Wired use only.
- When Xbox consoles are used, Brook Wingman XB3 adapters will be available at the stations. Controllers with Brook Gen5X boards or GP2040-CE with the respective authenticator are recommended for native compatibility with both PS5 and Xbox.
- Game Platforms may be subject to change.
