Event Rules
Registration 1. All players must register and have their fee paid before March 1st, 2024.
Schools may only enter as a full team. No incomplete teams will be admitted.Players must be full- or part-time students at the institution they are competing for, unless given permission by Heartland officials.Coaches/Coordinator/Director/Managers must be able to produce documents proving the enrollment status of any player.
Game-Specific Rules
The tournament will begin with a round robin. Each round robin match will be “best-of-one.” all teams will be broken up into 2 groups consisting of 4 teams. Each team will play the 3 other teams in their group. Each team will go into the bracket stage, being asigned seeding based on their round robin results. If there is a tie, the team holding the face to face victory will be awarded the higher seed. If there is a 3 or 4 way tie the highest seed will be given to the team with the shortest game time.Before each match, the team captains and a Heartland official will hold a coin toss. The winner of the coin toss will choose either red or blue side for their respective team.All games will be contested on Summoner’s Rift, 5v5, Tournament Draft. If either party wants to use Prodraft, then the draft must take place on Prodraft.Pick orders will not be enforced.
The tournament will be played on the most recent live patch.In the event of an issue, a player may pause the game. They must then immediately report to a Heartland official and explain the issue. The game may resume after the pausing team, the nonpausing team and the heartland official agree to unpause. However, the Heartland official has the discretion to have the players start the game if agreements are not able to be reached.If a bug is reported and is seen as substantial to the outcome of the game, tournament officials may issue a remake with the character with the bug being disabled for the rest of the tournament. Bugs that do not have a substantial effect on the outcome of the game will be played through.If a player intentionally abuses a bug that has a substantial impact on the outcome of the game, that player may no longer compete for the rest of the tournament.No strategic pauses available.All Heartland Officials may change any aspect of the tournament and all decisions made are final.All teams and players must comply with the player procedures handout that will be issued at registration.
