- Default Settings: 3 Stocks, 8:00 Timer
Character Selection:
- If requested, characters for the first game may be chosen double-blind (both players picking their character at the same time, with neither knowing the others selection beforehand).
- For all games after the first game in a set, the winner of the previous game chooses their character first, and then the loser chooses their character. Characters are chosen before the stage is selected.
- If a player wishes to choose a random character, that character may remain unknown to both players until the game starts only if the random character pool includes ALL characters.

- Julesvale
- Merchant Port
- Godai Delta
- Hodojo
Counterpicks:
- Hyperborean Harbor
- Rock Wall

Starter Striking:
- Both players play rock-paper-scissors to determine the order of striking, which is then carried out as follows:
- The winner of RPS strikes one starter stage.
- The loser of RPS strikes two starter stages.
- The winner of RPS selects a stage for Game 1 from the remaining starter stages.
Counterpick Procedures:
- For all games in a set after Game 1, the winner of the previous game will strike 2 stages from the full set of Starter and Counterpick stages, after which the loser will select from the remaining available stages.
- When choosing stages, a player cannot select any stage they have previously won on at an earlier point in the set without the consent of their opponent (modified Dave’s Stupid Rule).
- Playing a match on a stage where this rule applies without immediately stopping and notifying your opponent that you wish to invoke this rule implies that you have agreed to play on it.
