Mario Kart World Free-For-All Ruleset
- Competitors are encouraged to bring their own controller and there are no restrictions on what controller is used (the only exception being controllers with macro inputs).
- 'Smart Steering' controls are not allowed and must be turned off.
- Matches are played in the ‘LAN Play’ mode.
- The LAN mode settings will be set as follows; 150cc, Teams = No Teams, Items = Normal, COM = No COM, Race Count = 8 (12 in finals).
- Players compete in 12 person groups in a single elimination bracket.
- At the end of each match the 6 players with the highest scores will progress to the next round. In the final round the Race Count will be set to 12, and the player’s final placements will be determined by their score counts relative to each other at the end of the match. If a match ends in a draw a 1 race tiebreaker will be played by the players with equal scores.
All rulings are done at the discretion of the tournament officials.
General Rules
A JAFAX 2025 badge will be required for gaming event entry.
Once a match begins the competitors will have 5 minutes to be present for it, if a competitor is still absent after the 5 minutes, the match may be counted as a lost match. (This decision will be made at the discretion of the tournament officials). If the absence occurs in winner's bracket, the absent competitor(s) will be moved to the loser's bracket.
Intentionally disrupting your opponent outside of the game will result in disqualification.
Bracket manipulation will result in a disqualification.
Coaching (receiving helpful information from someone not participating in the match) is not allowed and will result in the 'coach' being ejected from the event. What constitutes 'coaching' is up to the discretion of the tournament officials.
