TO Discression: The TO's have the right to DQ anyone for poor behavior, poor sportsmanship, or any unfair reasons like poor connection quality. We want this competition to be as fair as possible. It's hard to have ideal tournaments online so please be understanding if we ask you to drop out due to bad connection.
Lag test(MUST BE DONE BEFORE ALL SETS ARE COMPLETE): If you feel the connection is terrible and your internet is not bad you can always request a lag test for the match. The TO for one of many reasons may request a screenshot of results for pinging to Google via Command Prompt. Using the command “ping 8.8.8.8 -t” to see the consistency of ping spikes. Uploading the screenshot to TheBowBros discord, in the strive sunday splash lag test channel is the easiest method. This cannot leak IPs as the IP given is actually Google’s and not the Player’s.
Desyncs: Desyncs will have both players replay the game. If one player has in-game skins from a modified ISO, they will be given a game loss for the desync as it is known to increase the chances of a desync happening. If one player has consistent desyncs or connection issues, they will be DQ’d.
No shared setups or playing for each other: Each Player needs an individual setup to be able to play, and they must be playing on their own account. You must be the only Player playing for your bracket matches.
Smurfing: If you hide your identity by using an account no one associates as being you, it will ruin seeding, and hurt the tournament experience. This will result in a ban. If you wish to play a secondary character, there is no issue with this if you’re still on your main account. Please contact the TOs so they may seed accordingly for your character choice.
Pausing: Pauses during a tournament match (accidental or purposeful) will result in a game loss by the player that paused. If it’s early in the match without both players attempting to play neutral, then pausing to quit out and select the correct stage is allowed. Pausing to call for a TO is needed, so you will not forfeit a game loss for calling a TO, unless there is no rule needing to be enforced, which will still give the player that paused a game loss.
Double disqualification: The TOs may DQ people out of losers that have also DQ’d out of winners by not checking in. This is to save time, but because of the 5 minute automatic dq timer for losers, this rule will rarely be enforced.
Payout time: Payout 1-2 days after the event takes place. Some circumstances may cause up to a 2 week wait before payouts are complete. Message the TOs about the payouts if you’re wanting further communication
Payout for disqualified participants: If a player is disqualified for breaking rules, or is unable to play in the tournament after reaching a placement to receive prize money. The prize money will not automatically go to the disqualified player. It will be the Tournament Organizers'/host’s decision on where the prize money will go. The default ruling is for it to be distributed to the other competitors that have reached a placement to receive prize money, and have not been disqualified from the tournament.
