General rules

3 stocks. Time Limit: 7 minutes Team Attack: On Stage Hazards, Handicap, Items, Pause and Final Smash Meter: Off Blast Zone Radar: On In the event of a time out, the winner is first determined by stock count, and then by percentage. If both stock and percentage are the same, or if a game ends by both players losing their last stock at the same time, then a tiebreaker with one stock and 3 minutes is played. Coaching players mid-set is banned. Players can request their opponent to change the skin of their character, if their skin blends in too much with the stage background or with their team color. If the player has an audio splitter, they’re allowed to use their headphones for game audio. If two players want to use headphones for game audio, at least one of them has to have an audio splitter. Stream setups are the exception: tournament organizers will decide on the rules regarding the use of headphones.

How to play a set

Players choose their characters. Either one of them can request a Double Blind character selection. Players Stage Strike The first game is played The winner of the game chooses their character The loser of the game chooses their character The winner of the game bans three stages The loser of the game chooses one of the remaining stages The next game is played Repeat steps 4-8 until one of the players wins the set

Stage Strike (first game of the set)
A game of Rock-Paper-Scissors is played. The winner of the game is player A and the loser of the game is player B Player A bans three stages from the stage list Player B chooses two stages from the remaining stages Player A chooses one of the two stages player B chose

Double Blind Character Selection:
Player A tells their character to a third party (without player B hearing it) Player B reveals their character The third party reveals player A’s character.

Other
At any point of the set, if both players are in agreement, they can go to any of the stages on the stage list or choose one of the Omega- or Battlefield-variations of stages. (Gentleman’s Rule) If you choose one of the Mii characters, you have to decide and reveal their moveset the same time you choose the character. Clarification of this rule:

The winner of a game chooses their character before their opponent. The winner announces they will play Mii Brawler. This is where they also have to announce Brawler’s moveset. (on request) The loser of the game will choose their character after that.
Players have chosen to do a Double Blind character selection. One of the players decides to play Mii Brawler: they also have to decide on the moveset and either write it down on paper or whisper it to a third party with the character.
