Event Rules
TOURNAMENT FORMAT
  • Groups -> Single Elimination bracket
TOURNAMENT PROCEDURES
  • Teams must check-in with an onsite organizer before bracket begins.
  • Teams must follow the direction of the organizer.
  • Match setup should be done as quickly as possible. Create a lobby and have all players inside the lobby within a reasonable amount of time. Failure to do so will result in penalties such as game losses.
  • To create a lobby, enter the Shoal. Hold ZL, ZR, and the left stick in to enter LAN mode, then create a private battle.
  • Before you play, make sure any issues with equipment are communicated to an organizer.
  • Maps and Modes will be set. Please use the maplist provided by organizers at each setup.
  • If a game is started on the wrong map or mode, it will not count. One team should quickly end the game (you can do this in private lobbies in Splatoon 3 by holding ZR, ZL, R, L, and both joysticks down for a few seconds). HOWEVER, if both teams play out the match, it will count. It is the responsibility of both teams to ensure the correct map and mode are played. When matches are finished, report the final set score to an organizer.
  • In the rare event of a tie, the teams will play a Best of 1 on Splat Zones if time permits. If it does not, the higher seed will be declared the winner.
MODIFICATIONS, COACHING, & CHEATING
  • Players are not allowed to use cheats, controllers with modifications beyond cosmetics, or third-party programs in tournament play. Exceptions can be made for disabilities. Other modifications will result in immediate disqualification.
  • Game exploits will be reviewed on a case by case basis. Most exploits, especially resulting in game-breaking circumstances, will result in disqualification. If you are worried that a strategy or a controller would warrant disqualification, contact an organizer before the tournament.
  • Communicating with outside parties while the match is ongoing with the purpose of coaching will be considered cheating.
  • If your team does have a coach, please have them spectate the game with the other spectators and do not interact with them during matches.
  • Any collusion or results manipulation with your competitors is forbidden. If the TO determines that any competitor is colluding to manipulate results or intentionally underperform, the colluding players may be immediately disqualified. This determination is to be made at the discretion of the TO. Anyone disqualified in this manner forfeits all rights to any titles or prize money they might have otherwise earned.
