Sure You Can Scrimmage Rules

Game: Street Fighter 6
Platform: PC, PlayStation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox, Xbox Series X
Format:
  • Rounds: Best 2 out of 3 Rounds
  • Time: 99 Seconds
  • Matches: Best 2 out of 3 Matches (until Top 3, where it'll change to Best 3 out of 5 Matches)
Rank:
  • Only CFN Accounts that are ranked Gold or lower can enter the tournament: Rookie, Iron, Bronze, Silver, and Gold. (If there are sub flavors i.e. Super Gold, those are grouped as metal type: Gold)
  • For this first event ONLY, we will have relaxed rank requirements due to the short time since launch. If you are Platinum or Diamond in SF6, please feel free to spectate, but you will not be able to enter this one. We want to encourage new players into the scene, not grind them into dust to stroke your ego.
  • If your match starts and your account is found to be ranked higher (anything above Gold), you will automatically be DQ'ed.
  • We cannot stop anyone from creating a "Smurf" account to grief the event, but TO's have power to DQ anyone for any reason at any time.
  • If suspected of being a smurf account and that you are much stronger than your rank, TO's have the right to DQ you, no questions asked.
  • Seriously, though, there's no prize money and this is for a good cause to help beginners gain tournament experience. There's really no reason to try and ruin other people's fun. So let's all just play nice!
Location:
  • Online Tournament
  • For now, entrants are restricted to U.S. Residents, Mexico Residents, or Canada Residents only.
  • Restrictions may lighten over time if found manageable.
  • Conversely, restrictions may also become more strict if matches are found to be of unsatisfactory quality.
  • Events run in other regions may take place in the future. Please keep an eye out for these!
Internet Restrictions:
  • Wired connections are required. We will be using CFN connection indicator to check.
  • (WIFI is fast on average, but inherently unstable, with individual packets sometimes being delayed by hundreds of ms, causing occasional large rollback events even on good netcode. 60 feet of ethernet cable costs about $10 and makes for a much better online experience for both you and the opponent)
  • For now, no internet speed tests will be enforced.
Accounts:
  • You must have a Smash.gg account to register.
  • You must have a Discord account for communication via the UltraChenTV Discord (https://discord.gg/w9x2vdf).
  • On Discord, please change your nickname to match your Smash.gg account name so that your Discord and name in the Smash.gg bracket match.
  • To do this, just type in Discord, "/nick <smash.gg name> " . This will change your nickname for THAT SERVER ONLY, so it won't affect your other Discord servers that you are a part of.
Playing Your Matches:
  • Once tournament begins, you must monitor the bracket page of the bracket you are in on Smash.gg at all times. You must also monitor the Discord chat at all times as well for messages from the TOs.
Checking In To Your Match:
  • When your match is ready to be played, you'll have 10 minutes to check-in to your match or you will be DQ'ed.
  • If something comes up and you need 5-10 minutes or something reasonable right before you are about to play your match (food delivery showed up at your door, the baby has started to cry, your cat has knocked over a bookshelf, etc.), contact the TOs in the "competitors" channel of Discord and let them and your opponent know so the TOs can make sure you do not get DQ'ed. However, obviously if the wait needs to be an amount of time that would hold up the tournament significantly, the request will have to be denied and you will be DQ'ed.
  • Once you are both checked in, in order to set up the match with your opponent, click on your matchup in the bracket and use the "Chat" tab to communicate with your opponent and get each other's CFN ID's and arrange who invites whom to play your match.
Winner's Bracket:
  • If you are in the Winner's Bracket, do not start your next match until the TO announces that stage of the Winners Bracket has begun.
  • This is because your match may be slated to be streamed. If so, you will not be able to check into the match, and you'll be contacted by the TO via Smash.gg's chat to get an invite to the stream lobby to play your match on stream.
  • If you do start the match earlier than allowed, the TO has full discretion to erase and reset any results and make you play the match again from the beginning.
Loser's Bracket:
  • If you are in the Loser's Bracket and your opponent is known, you may, at any time, proceed to contact your opponent in Smash.gg via the Chat tab to challenge each other to a match.
  • You do not have to wait for the TO to okay starting a Loser's Bracket match as these matches will not be streamed in general.
  • At some point, the TO may start scheduling Loser's Bracket matches for the stream. Once this happens, you cannot check in and you'll have to contact the TO via Smash.gg's chat or the Discord channel to get an invite to the stream lobby to play your match on stream.
Winning:
  • Once your match has concluded, both players are responsible for reporting the results of the match.
  • You will be able to do so on Smash.gg directly without an admin's help.
  • If possible, please be accurate in games won (e.g. 2-0 or 2-1) and characters used, but not required.
  • If, for example, you're in the Loser's Bracket and the losing player just decides to leave after losing, it becomes the winner's responsibility to report the matches. You will have to wait 1 minute between each game report before you can set the next one without the other person able to verify the results. This is just how Smash.gg works.
  • If you and your opponent try to report conflicting results, please bring it up to the admins in the "competitors" channel. The history is easy to look up in-game and disputes will be resolved. If you are caught trying to report a win when you have in fact lost in an attempt to cheat, you will be BANNED indefinitely from all future UCTV tournaments.
