Tekken 8 PC Tournament Rule Set

1. General Information
  • Platform: PC
  • Game Version: Latest available version of Tekken 8 on PC at the time of the tournament.
  • Tournament Format: Double Elimination
  • Player Eligibility: Open to all registered participants
2. Match Settings
  • Game Mode: Versus Mode

  • Rounds per Game: Best of 3 rounds

  • Time Limit: 60 seconds per round

  • Set Format:

    • Standard Matches: Best of 3 games (First to 2 wins)
    • Finals (Winners, Losers, Grand Finals): Best of 5 games (First to 3 wins)
  • Stage Selection:

    • First Game: Random select or mutually agreed upon stage
    • Subsequent Games: Loser may opt for a random stage reset; winner cannot change the stage
  • Character Selection:

    • First Game: Double-blind pick if requested
    • Winner Lock: Winner must keep the same character
    • Loser Option: Loser may switch character
3. Equipment and Controllers
  • Allowed Controllers: Any wired controller compatible with PC (fight sticks, gamepads)

  • Prohibited Controllers: Wireless controllers to prevent interference

  • Macros and Binds:

    • Only in-game macros and button binds are allowed
    • External macros, turbo buttons, or hardware-assisted mechanisms are prohibited
  • Headphones: Players may use personal headphones but must comply with any event policies regarding audio equipment

4. Match Procedures
  • Check-In:

    • Players must check in at least 15 minutes before their scheduled match
    • Failure to check in may result in a forfeit
  • No-Show Policy:

    • A 10-minute grace period is allowed after match call
    • After 10 minutes, the absent player forfeits the match
  • Pausing and Disruptions:

    • Accidental Pause: Results in the loss of the current round for the player who paused
    • Equipment Failure: Players must notify a tournament official immediately
  • Button Checks:

    • Allowed before the first game of the set
    • Must be conducted quickly to avoid delays
5. Conduct and Sportsmanship
  • Code of Conduct:

    • Players must behave respectfully toward opponents, officials, and spectators
    • Harassment, hate speech, or abusive behavior will result in disqualification
  • Cheating and Collusion:

    • Any form of cheating or match fixing is strictly prohibited
    • Both parties involved in collusion will be disqualified
  • Disputes:

    • All disputes must be brought to a tournament official immediately
    • The official's decision is final
6. Game Rules
  • Customizations:

    • Default costumes only
    • No custom outfits or accessories that could obscure hitboxes or animations
  • Game Glitches:

    • Intentional use of game-breaking glitches or exploits is prohibited
    • Unintentional activation requires the match to be paused and a tournament official notified
  • Forbidden Techniques:

    • Any technique deemed unfair or disruptive by officials is banned
7. Streaming and Recording
  • Match Streaming:

    • Tournament organizers may stream matches
    • Players will be notified if their match is selected for streaming
  • Player Consent:

    • By participating, players consent to being recorded and broadcasted
  • Personal Streaming:

    • Players may not stream their matches unless granted permission by the organizers
8. Prize Distribution
  • Payout Structure:

    • Prize pool and distribution percentages will be announced prior to the tournament
  • Tax Responsibility:

    • Winners are responsible for any taxes on their winnings
9. Health and Safety
  • Personal Belongings:
    • Players are responsible for their own equipment and belongings
    • Organizers are not liable for lost or stolen items
10. Amendments and Compliance
  • Rule Changes:

    • Tournament organizers reserve the right to modify rules
    • Any changes will be communicated to participants promptly
  • Compliance:

    • Failure to adhere to rules may result in penalties, including disqualification
  • Final Authority:

    • Tournament officials have the final say in all rulings

Tournament Rules

Tekken 8 Tournament Ruleset

General Rules
  • Game Version: Tekken 8 (PC)
  • Match Settings: 60 Seconds, 3 Rounds, 2 out of 3 Games for standard matches. Winners, Losers, & Grand Finals are 3 out of 5 Games.
  • Stage Selection: Random for the first game of the set. Loser of the previous game may choose to switch the stage or keep the same character.
  • Character Selection: Free for the first game of each set. The winner of the previous game must keep the same character.
  • Controller Policy: All controllers must be wired to the PC. Wireless controllers are not permitted unless they can operate in wired mode with USB connection. Custom controllers are subject to inspection.
  • Professional Conduct: Participants must conduct themselves in a respectful manner. Unsportsmanlike behavior may lead to disqualification.
Hardware and Software Settings
  • Resolution: 1920x1080 (Full HD)
  • Graphics Settings: Default
  • PCs: Tournament-provided setups will be used.
  • BYOC (Bring Your Own Controller): Players are allowed to bring their own controllers, but they must be wired and comply with tournament guidelines.
Match Conduct
  1. Setup Inspection: Players should verify their controller and game settings before the match starts.
  2. Gameplay: Play out the match until completion. Pauses or interruptions should be reported to a tournament official immediately.
  3. Post-Game: Winners must report their victory to the tournament officials. Losers have the option for stage selection or character change as per the rules.
Disconnections and Pauses
  • In the event of a game pause or disconnection, the game will continue from the point of interruption if possible. If not, the round may be replayed at the discretion of the tournament officials.
Tournament Structure
  • Double Elimination: Players are eliminated after two losses. The tournament progresses through Winners and Losers brackets.
  • Tournament Pools: Depending on the number of entrants, players will be divided into pools. Each pool will play out until three or more players advance to the next stage.
Registration and Entry
  • All participants must register online prior to the event. Multiple registrations under different identities are strictly prohibited.
  • Entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Final Notes
  • Tournament organizers reserve the right to make the final decision on any matter not covered by these rules.
  • By participating, players agree to abide by all rules and decisions made by tournament organizers.
