Tournament Rules
General

All event rules can be viewed under the relevant event page. Players are subject to the same terms and conditions of the Grid gaming center, and players at in-store events will be required to sign a waiver for use of equipment and facilities.

In the case of tournaments with fewer than 5 teams signed up at the time of the first game, the listed prize split for that event will be replaced with "winner-take-all".

For all online tournaments, a team captain will be required to join our Discord server, but we highly recommend everyone join the server for updates and community involvement.

Online Tournament Operation

Team captains must be in the Tournament voice channel of the Grid discord server 30 minutes before the tournament begins or be disqualified.

When the tournament begins, a Grid organizer will bring each pair of competing team captains into a private discord call to go over the rules and help set up the match. An organizer may also ask to spectate the game in order to stream it on the Grid Twitch channel (twitch.tv/thegridgamingus).

In the event of an issue, a player may pause the game, with a maximum of 10 minutes pause time throughout the entire tournament per team. All pauses must be reported to the TO.

After a match is completed, both team captains take a screenshot of the match results, and report the scores to a Grid organizer in the discord.

All entrants may also choose to play their matches in-store for no additional charge.

Covid Policies

It’s our responsibility to do everything we can to protect the health and safety of our players and staff. So, we’ve invested in ways that greatly reduce the spread of the virus.

  • We installed a state-of-the-art Halo Reme LED-UV light in the air handling system. It is the same technology used to clean and reuse PPE.
  • Lexan dividers between each gaming station which are cleaned regularly.
  • Our staff members wear masks at all times and we ask that you do the same, as well as maintain safe social distancing whenever possible.
  • We thoroughly clean each station after every use, including sterilizing headsets, keyboards, mice, chairs and all desk surfaces
  • Hand sanitizer bottles are placed throughout our venue.
  • We meticulously clean our entire gaming center each night after closing.

If you’ve had any symptoms of any kind of flu in the past 7 days, we ask you to please postpone your visit to the Grid. Let’s have fun and be part of the cure, not part of the cause.
