TOURNAMENT FORMAT & RULES

DOUBLE ELIMINATION

Each Tournament Event will be played as a double elimination (a “Double Elimination”) bracket competition, in which Players compete in Matches (the “Match Sets”) starting from what is known as the winner’s side of the bracket (the “Winner’s Bracket”).

If a Player loses a Match Set while in the Winner's Bracket, that Player will be moved to the loser’s side of the bracket (the “Loser’s Bracket”). If a Player loses a Match Set while in the Loser’s Bracket, that Player is eliminated and will no longer advance further in the bracket for that Tournament Event.

The winner of the Winner’s Bracket will play against the winner of the Losers Bracket in the Grand Finals of the Tournament Event, as set forth below.

MATCH PLAY

All Match Sets will be best-of-three, in which the Player who wins two (2) Matches first wins the Match Set, with the exception that the Winner’s Bracket finals, Losers Bracket finals, and Grand Finals of each Tournament Event bracket will be best-of-five, in which the Player who wins three (3) Matches first wins the Match Set.

During a Match Set, the winner of any single Match must comply with the following winner lock rules:

At the start of a Match Set, each Player selects their character and the stage is selected at random.

After any single Match, the winner is "locked" into their character and they are not permitted to switch their character until or unless they lose a subsequent single Match.

All single Matches are loser's choice; and the loser of any single Match may choose between rematching with the Player’s previous character or choosing a new character and stage.

Match Rules

All Matches must use the following in-Game Settings:

Rounds: 2 out of 3 (3 out of 5 for Winner's/Loser's/Grand Finals)
Time Limit: 60 seconds
Stage: Random
Character Customizations: Allowed

If there are severe connectivity issues during the match, please notify the designated Tournament Organizer for your pool. Both competitors will be asked to submit screenshots of their Graphics Benchmark Scores and Speedtest Data for internal evaluation and to determine the outcome of the match.

STARTING MATCHES

Winners Bracket: Do not start matches until notified to do so
Losers Bracket: You can start the matches as soon as possible except for semi-finals and finals. We'll notify semi finals and finals when to start.

REPORTING SCORES

After completing your match, please update your score through your pool's respective results channel.

STREAMED MATCHES

You'll be notified if you will be playing on stream. If that's the case, do not start your match and wait for an invite to be sent to you to join the stream lobby.

EXCEPTIONS REGARDING MATCHMAKING

If you and your opponent for whatever reason cannot find each other in the Fight Lounge or match at a cabinet, make sure to refresh the lounge, about 2-3 times. If you still cannot match with your opponent, please coordinate and play in a private lobby, make sure to refresh the search 2-3 times. If the issue persists and you still cannot find your opponent's lobby, please coordinate with your opponent again and select a less populated region in the Fight Lounge and play each other at an open cabinet. IF YOU AND YOUR OPPONENT DECIDE TO PLAY AT A CABINET, STAGE SELECT IS NOT AN OPTION, BOTH PARTIES SHOULD AGREE TO THESE LIMITATIONS

We hope that these tournament rules promote fairness and protect the competitive integrity of the game. By upholding these standards, all competitors can enjoy their matches, while helping to foster a respectful gaming environment for the community. Thanks for your participation and we hope to see you again in the next TOF!
